Watch Bridge Culture Club discussion of the novel ‘Tin Camp Road’
More than 110 readers joined Bridge and Airgood for a discussion of her big-hearted 2021 novel.
“Tin Camp Road” tells the story of a mother and her 10-year-old daughter and their fight for a stable life amid the poverty of the Upper Peninsula. “Tin Camp Road” was chosen as the Library of Congress’s “Great Reads from Great Places” Michigan selection for 2023.
Airgood discussed setting her books in the Upper Peninsula, character development, the role of family and community in “Tin Camp Road,” her life as a Michigander, balancing writing and owning a small business as well as the reaction to the book.
