The best podcasts for book lovers

If you’re a book lover, a dream day involves at least couple of hours lost in the pages of your latest read, right? Unfortunately life often gets in the way – chores to be done, shopping to be bought, dogs to be walked…
That’s where book podcasts come in. You can listen as you go about your day and still get your books fix. There are lots of excellent books-based podcasts available to listen to, featuring discussions, reviews and author interviews. Here, we choose nine of the best.
Author Daisy Buchanan is the hostess with the mostest of this brilliant books podcast. Every episode, she interviews an author about the books that have shaped their lives, from childhood through to their latest read. We love that chatty tone and how wide-ranging the conversations often are, taking in music, film and art. Recent guests have included Nina Stibbe, Liane Moriarty, Paula Hawkins and Jodi Picoult.
Pop star Dua Lipa hosts this brilliant, thoughtful vodcast. Every month Dua picks a book for her Book Club, then chats to the author – recent choices have included The Bee Sting by Paul Murray and On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong. Listen for the smart questioning and unusual take on books.
Backlisted’s focus is on giving new life to old books. The two presenters, John Mitchinson and Andy Miller, joined by producer Nicky Birch, have great chemistry and it’s a great way to find out about undiscovered gems.
