Louisiana Inspired Book Club I Never Thought of It That Way | Baton Rouge

The Louisiana Inspired Book Club virtual discussion of “I Never Thought of It That Way” with the author Mónica Guzmán and selected Louisiana panelists is set for 12:15 p.m. Sept. 18. The book focuses on discussing new ways to bridge the gaps between political and social divides to keep conversations going and civil — and ultimately to maintain relationships. For those who haven’t read the book, audiobooks and e-books are available at most libraries on either the Overdrive app or the Libby app for free. Physical copies are also available.
During the book club discussion, Guzmán will answer questions and share her story about using curiosity to overcome differences. She will be joined by panelists Maxine Crump with Dialogue on Race Louisiana based in Baton Rouge, the Rev. Michael Bordelon with St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Lafayette, Martin Gutierrez with Catholic Charities New Orleans and recently added panelist, Adrian Owen Jones, with Success Labs in Baton Rouge.

Jones utilizes her expertise in creative problem-solving, leadership development, strategic planning and organizational growth to help clients navigate business challenges. She is a Gallup-certified strengths coach, a certified Enneagram facilitator and a teacher at LSU’s Leadership Development Institute. Jones also was a world-ranked player in World of Warcraft. She enjoys gardening and reading poetry.
