Jul 13 | An Afternoon with Daniel Silva, Author of An Inside Job

The bestselling author Daniel Silva will discuss his thriller An Inside Job, the latest in his blockbuster series about Gabriel Allon, an art restorer and sometime Israeli secret agent. The event, to be moderated by John Breunig, Editorial Page Editor with Hearst Connecticut Media Group, will be held at the Main Library Sunday, July 13 at 2 p.m.

In An Inside Job, Allon is drawn again into the world of espionage, when a priceless da Vinci painting is stolen from the Vatican Museum. The theft, disguised as a power outage, involves the murder of a mysterious woman and a complex web of mobsters, money launderers and art thieves. Allon must race against time, navigating from London to the French Riviera, to recover the masterpiece and uncover the truth behind the art heist.

A former journalist with UPI and CNN, where he became Executive Producer for shows like Crossfire, Capital Gang and Reliable Sources, Silva published The Unlikely Spy, his bestselling debut, in 1997. This was followed by The Mark of the Assassin and The Marching Season, also instant bestsellers. It was Silva’s fourth novel, The Kill Artist, that introduced Gabriel Allon to readers, and marked the beginning of a series that so far numbers 25. His books have been translated into more than 30 languages.

The program, part of the Friends Author Series, will conclude with a Q&A and book signing hosted by Elm Street Books.

Registration is required here. Tickets are $35 for the general public, $30 for Friends members. Ticket purchase includes a copy of An Inside Job.
