Featured author announced for James V. Brown Library’s gala | News, Sports, Jobs

The James V. Brown Library has announced best-selling author Elin Hilderbrand as the featured speaker at this year’s 19th Author Gala. The event is scheduled for Oct. 13 at the Community Arts Center.

The gala is the library’s main fundraising event each year and has featured authors such as David Baldacci in 2021 and Lisa See in 2019. The gala was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Hilderbrand, whose novel “Golden Girl,” was her 27th, published her first novel, “The Beach Club,” in 2000. In 2019, “Summer of ’69” was her first novel to debut at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. Her latest work, “Hotel Nantucket,” goes on sale June 14th.

She is the proud mother of three, a dedicated Peloton rider, an aspiring book influencer and an enthusiastic at-home cook. Her “Cringe Cooking Show” is on Instagram @elinhilderbrand.

Sponsorships for the gala are available by calling Dana Brigandi at 570-327-2957. A limited number of sponsorships are available and will feature an exclusive private meet-and-greet with Hilderbrand in the Capitol Lounge.

Postcards highlighting the event will be mailed in May and general admission tickets will go on sale at the CAC box office on July 13th. The event will also be livestreamed for a fee.

Hilderbrand’s visit is funded by a generous sponsorship from the Friends of the James V. Brown Library.
