A Novel Idea Starts New Author Initiative at Alpharetta Public Library

A Novel Idea, in collaboration with The Atlanta Writers Club and Bookmiser, will begin hosting monthly authors in conversation at the Alpharetta Public Library in its 150-seat auditorium at 10 Park Plaza, Alpharetta. Scheduled the third Tuesday of each month, the events will feature authors discussing their popular and most recent books.

ANI is not new to showcasing author talent. Jeremy Logan, leader of the volunteer group, said, “The beauty of what we do is to provide a forum where authors can shine and have an opportunity to polish their presentation skills. We’ve been doing that in Dunwoody at Vintage Pizzeria where we host new and emerging authors monthly in an informal nightclub-like atmosphere; however, the Alpharetta Library venue gives us an opportunity to spread our wings a bit and bring in more well-known and established authors.”

The programs at the Alpharetta Library, all free to the public, begin Aug. 16 with Rona Simmons and Jon Jordan, two well-known authors who will be discussing their latest books focusing on war stories. On Sept. 20, Carolyn Curry will be joined by her husband, former football coach Bill Curry, and will discuss her new book, “Sudden Death.” John Pruitt, former longtime WSB news anchor, will be the focus of the Oct. 18 offering where he’ll be discussing his first book, “Tell It True.”

Plans for November are still being finalized; however, the program for Dec. 13 is set. Wildly popular New York Times best-selling authors Patti Callahan Henry and Mary Kay Andrews will be appearing together. In addition to the many books written by each, they are also co-hosts of Friends and Fiction, a weekly program on Facebook and YouTube engaging in author interviews and fascinating talk about publishing and writing.

All events at the Alpharetta Public Library will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude by 7:30 p.m. Afterwards, book sales and signings will be coordinated by Bookmiser. For more information on all ANI events, visit https://anovelidea.us or A Novel Idea | Facebook.
