Racine Public Library Offers Author Events and Workshops ’25

RACINE — The Racine Public Library has released its August 2025 calendar, offering a wide range of events for readers, families, teens, and lifelong learners. Programming includes author visits, STEAM activities, fiber arts meetups, literacy programs, and seasonal reading challenges.
Author Events Highlight the Month
One of the featured events is The Next Chapter: Romance Edition, hosted by the Friends of the Racine Public Library on Friday, Sept. 5. The event brings together USA Today bestselling romance authors Lyssa Kay Adams, Avery Flynn, and Abigail Owen for a day of workshops, a panel discussion, Q&A, and book signings. Dinner with the authors is also included. Tickets are required due to limited space.
Later in the month, author and paranormal researcher Chad Lewis will return for Wisconsin’s Most Haunted Locations – The Scariest Places in WI, part of the Summer Scares series. The presentation takes place Thursday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Community Room and is open to teens and adults without registration.
Changes to Library Services
The library’s podcasting studio will be temporarily unavailable beginning Aug. 5 for approximately two months. Updates on its reopening will be announced at a later date.
The Bookmobile’s 2025–2026 school year schedule begins Tuesday, Sept. 2, continuing its regular weekly stops across Racine and surrounding communities. The updated schedule is identical to the 2024–2025 route and is available at RacineLibrary.info/library-go.
Ongoing Summer Programs
The Color Our World summer reading program continues through Aug. 31, with art-themed challenges and activities for all ages. Participants can complete reading logs online or in person to earn prizes, including entries into raffles for tablets, speakers, and gift certificates. Special features include a STEAM challenge and a Poet-Tree project where community members can share original poetry.
